Nicholas
Durcan - Biography
Nicholas Durcan is an unusually versatile pianist,
equally adept at classical, jazz and popular styles.
As a student at the Royal Academy of Music, he gained
an array of prestigious awards. His first appointment
was at Westminster Cathedral where he held the post
of Assistant Organist. However, the allure of the concert
hall, jazz clubs and popular music stole him away from
the organ loft into the world of entertainment.

Nicholas has made numerous TV appearances and radio
broadcasts. And on the classical side, he has given
solo and concerto performances at London's South Bank
and the Royal Albert Hall. His success has taken him
to the four corners of the globe and is in demand in
and outside of Europe. In addition, he has composed
film scores for the BBC and Channel 4.
As a performer, Nicholas has worked with some of the
biggest names in classical music and jazz, including
Guiseppe di Stefano, Katherine Jenkins, and Stacey Kent.
As a recording artist, he has numerous CDs under his
name. His most recent recording with Miriam Kramer was
released worldwide on the NAXOS label.
